Message from our President
Greetings Sorors, Philos, Rhoers, Rhosebuds and Visitors,
On behalf of the membership, it is an honor and pleasure to welcome you to the official website of the Theta Omega Sigma Alumnae Chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Incorporated.
Theta Omega Sigma Alumnae Chapter has been serving the greater Rochester community since October 23, 1999. As a service based-organization, our membership represents the hallmark of strong, powerful women with careers in various professions such as education, healthcare, public relations, social work, finance, and higher education.
We are passionate and dutiful in our commitment to be impactful. This is why we host programs and events geared toward education, health awareness, and development of the next generation of female leaders. Our commitment to this work is expressed in our slogan, “Greater Service, Greater Progress.”
Our presence is strong, our impact is measurable. As we approach our centennial milestone on November 12, 2022, our voice will be unforgettable. We will return to Butler University; where our seven founders were bestowed Honorary Doctorates of Humane Letters by Butler University, where our organization was founded 100 years ago.
We are standing on the shoulders of trailblazing women who had the courage to establish a collegiate sorority despite the odds of the racial environment a century ago. We are excited about making intentional, impactful and measurable changes in our community much like our founders.
We invite you to learn more about us by perusing our website and we welcome your inquiries regarding partnerships, giving by way of our charitable foundation the Yellow Tea Rose, and membership.
Feel free to join our mailing list so that you can get updates directly. We are very excited to share our journey with you as we travel down the road to centennial!
