More About the Flower City Poodles

Theta Omega Sigma (TOS) Alumnae Chapter of Rochester, N.Y. was chartered on October 23, 1999, by Romunda Harris, Brande Hunt, Trina Duncan, Michele Butler, and Natalya (Nikki) Davis.
The five charter members set a strong foundation for the establishment of Sigma in the Flower City. As years went on, the charter members ventured into their professional careers serving as officers in the military, devoting time to their ministry, and raising families. Theta Omega Sigma Chapter was reactivated on January 22, 2011, by Jessica Lewis, Toshia Johnson, Racquel Shaw, Janai Hawkins, and Arnice Jackson.
A reactivation celebration was held on Friday, April 15, 2011, to re-establish Sigma back into the community and allow fellow National Pan-Hellenic Council organizations to bring words of welcome. Later that year, the chapter welcomed Torri Cowans into the sisterhood on December 2, 2011. The growth of membership continued with the induction of 12 women from 2013-2018.
Today, the chapter continues to grow and work collaboratively with community-serving agencies to host a variety of service initiatives and youth engagement projects. The chapter hosts annual social events, fundraisers, and sponsors two auxiliary groups, the Philos and Rhoer Club.
