The Rhoer Club is an affiliate organization of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc., that emphasizes mentoring young women so that they might become model citizens within their community and contributors to society. To this end, the Sorority through its Rhoer program assumes the responsibility of encouraging and promoting high scholastic attainment; leadership development; individual talents; and emphasizes the value of poise and dignity. Sigma provides a positive constructive cultural outlet for "little sisters" in our community. Rhoer Club membership is open to young ladies between the age of 12 to 18 who demonstrate high scholastic achievement and a commitment to community service.
History was made on September 14, 2013, when four young ladies, Destiny Cowans, JaVanse Ryland-Buntley, Kennedy Lyman, and Starr Ryland-Buntley were inducted into the Theta Omega Sigma (TOS) Rhoer Club. The TOS Rhoer Club is the very first Rhoer Club established in Area V of the Northeastern Region. On October 4, 2014, the club welcomed members Zaria Fonville, Tiana Swank, Ayanna Sampson, and Jia Norris. On January 26, 2019, the club welcomed its newest members Jhavanie Napier, Reya Thompson, Mckenzie Duncan, Jade Salmon, and Nevaeh Payton.
Over the last year, the Rhoers have participated in the City of Rochester Clean Sweep, marched in the Juneteenth and Clarissa Street parades, attended an Evening of Diversity and Power featuring Sheryl Lee Ralph at the University of Rochester, and attended A Call to Women of Color: Girls Matter.
The young ladies are a dynamic group of girls who exemplify the Rhoer motto “Sisters Forever”. If you would like more information about joining our Rhoer Club, please complete our membership interest form.
Welcome to the newest members of the Rhoer Club!
Congratulations to Rhoers Soraya, Vanetta, Savannah, Nhaziah, Amaya, and Aylssa!
